Pastor Carmela A. Richardson
Carmela (McClendon) Richardson was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She was reared in a Christian home and was nurtured by a Godly grandmother who taught her how to love God and his church. As a young child, Carmela fell in love with the preaching and teaching of God's word and received inspiration from many Sunday school teachers, pastors and ministers. She pursued a career in nursing, not realizing the magnitude of the call God had on her life. Carmela began to do exhortations, teach classes and MC programs at local churches in the Los Angeles area. These opportunities began to reveal that God had a greater call on her life, and she began to seek Him and yield herself to His will.
In 1986, she married Jeffrey Richardson, and a dynamic ministry team was birthed. They served on the pastoral staff of the First Church of God, under Bishop Benjamin Reid for six years. In 1992, they were sent from Los Angeles, CA to Cleveland, OH to a traditional church congregation that was in need of leadership. There she served in many ministerial and administrative roles in the congregation. Establishing a women's ministry, bible class and outreach ministries. Her gift of administration, teaching and a prophetic anointing became evident to all that experienced her ministry. It was during these years that she accepted her call to pastoral ministry. In March of 2000, she and her husband started Barak Bible Fellowship Church, where she serves in the capacity of Co-Pastor.
She was ordained into pastoral ministry in May of 2002, by Bishop Gilbert Thompson, presiding prelate of the Church Without Walls International and Senior Pastor of the New Covenant Christian Church in Boston, MA. Pastor "Carm" as she is affectionately called continues to be used of God in the prophetic office and has inspired and encouraged many in the body of Christ.
Pastor Carm holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Cleveland State University and is a Licensed Social Worker. She and her husband, Jeffrey, have two children Jayson, 20 and Caleb, 14.
